Social Bookmarking Software & More: Part #10 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

I had two more posts left in the Freelance Writer’s Technology Month series and haven’t posted since Tuesday (have been working on getting two new websites up).

As I have to wrap this series up because tomorrow is December 1st (where has the time gone!), following is an in-depth, two-part post. FYI, this post is almost 3,000 words long and took almost four hours to write.

It concludes with 9 Money-Making Conclusions Drawn from Freelance Writer’s Technology Month and is jam-packed with what I sincerely hope you find useful information (had to end with a bang!). Here goes ...

Enjoy!
Sincerely,

How to Optimize Your Website to Get More Traffic: Post #9 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

Freelance Writer's Technology Month is winding down. There will be two more posts after today's entry. I've learned a lot and I've tried to pass it all on to you in this series.

To that end, today's topic is How to Optimize Your Website to Get More Traffic. A boring topic, perhaps. BUT, if you're serious about makingmoney online as a freelance wwriter, it's one you need to know at least the basics about.

I'm not a techie and I'm comfortable with that. HOWEVER, I've learned in my research that if I want to create passive online income, SEO is something that I must know about. What I discovered is that you don't have to be a techie to incorporate some basic SEO into your online marketing efforts -- basics that generate more traffic for your website (exactly what you need to increase your online income).

This article outlines 7 basic search engine optimization things you can do to increase your web traffic (the emphasis is on "basic!").

Good luck!
Yuwanda

SEO Article Writing Rates--How to Determine What to Charge: Post #8 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

I hope everyone had a happy holiday and are keepng busy working off the calories. I know I am!
I apologize for not posting on Friday. I'm in the process of setting up the affiliate program for Inkwell Editorial's ebooks and launching two new sites (SEO-Article-Writer.com and SEO-Articles-for-Sale.com) and was knee deep in content writing for them. More on this in the full post.

Today's post is extra long and talks about SEO article rates, eg, how to determine what to charge, where the industry is headed, why this is the next "hot" sector for freelance writing and why the rates are going up. FYI, I spoke with two industry experts who gave some valuable insight into this hot niche. Read on.

FYI, the holidays are a great time to launch new projects, fine tune old ones and test new money-making niches. Why? Because there's less work distraction this time of year. So, while everyone's mind is on the holidays, get a leg up on your marketing, advertising, new product launches, etc. You'll be well positioned to march ahead of the competition in late January/early February when everyone turns their attention back to work.

Editorially yours,
Yuwanda

In yesterday's post, Post #6 of Freelance Writer’s Technology Month, we discussed 4 controversial ways to drive more traffic to your website/blog.

Almost any type of traffic generation for websites and blogs begins with content. It truly is the "golden egg" if you want to make money online. And, there's a lot of money to be made as a content developer/SEO article writer (I know, it's what I've been transitioning into lately).

So, you may be wondering, "How do I find a job writing SEO articles?"

You're in luck, as that's today's topic. Read the entire article, How to Find a Job Writing SEO Articles.

FYI, the next post will be this Friday, the 23rd. I'm cleaning, grocery shopping and putting up holiday decorations tomorrow (the celebration is at my house). On Thursday, I plan to take the whole day to stuff myself :-)

To my American counterparts, Happy Turkey Day!

Yuwanda

How to Make Money with Minisites: Post #5 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

Did you know that this month is Freelance Writer’s Technology Month? What’s this all about. For a full understanding of what follows, I advise that you read this post first. Now, on to today’s post ...

When many think of making money online, they dream of building one website (or these days, a blog), getting boocoo advertisers and raking in the dough. Yesterday, we discussed software tools for niche sites, ie, software that helps you easily create a few niche websites and blogs.

Many online entrepreneurs have taken this more subtle approach, turning $1/day into an online empire. Instead of building one "industry-leading site," they've gone another route. And, many are raking in some non-too-shabby profits. How are they doing it?

Read on.

Sincerely,

Software Tools for Niche Websites & Blogs: Post #4 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

Yesterday, in Post #3 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month, we discussed niche marketing. Specifically, we covered how to choose a profitable niche to start making money online.

Today we’re going to examine some software tools for niche websites that make it easy and affordable to get started – and drive traffic sustainable traffic to any niche site.

When most think of online presence, they think “website.” But, blogs have become all the rage, especially in the last three years or so. Because they are, for the most part, free to start, it’s a really affordable way to test drive ideas for making money online.

Read the rest of this post, entitled How to Make Money Online with Niche Websites & Blogs (aka Software Tools for Niche Sites).

How to Write SEO Articles: Post #2 of Freelance Writer's Technology Month

Did you know that this month is Freelance Writer’s Technology Month? What’s this all about. For a full understanding of what follows, I advise that you read this post first.

Now, on to today’s post . .

How to Write SEO Articles

In yesterday’s post, The 4 Fundamentals of Making Money Online, we laid out the big picture of how to make money online.

The first of these fundamentals was content. Content is what drives traffic to websites. Sites without content don’t get found – even photo sites. The photos have descriptions, which is how you find the picture you’re looking for online.

So, words, words, words … they are extremely important to your online business.

But, there is a way to write the content so that you get found online. Here I will attempt to walk you through the basics of writing effective content (SEO articles) so that you drive more traffic to your website – which is what SEO is all about.

Click here to read the full post, SEO Content Development: How to Drive More Traffic to Your Website by Writing SEO Articles.

P.S.: Special 4-Day Offer! Get Inkwell Editorial’s freelance writing e-course AND all of its ebooks for only $19.95. Simply log onto http://www.freelancewritingwebsite.com/ and select the first payment option.

NEW SERIES: Freelance Writer's Technology Month

As I said in my last post, I’ve dubbed November Freelance Writer's Technology Month. What’s this all about?

A Solid Week of Research into How to Make Real Money Online as a Freelance Writer

Recently, I spent a solid week – 50-60 hours – researching how people make “real” money online. I’m talking long-term, sustainable, pay for healthcare and retirement money. To do this, I went back to basics. I forced myself to forget what I thought I knew and approach everything fresh.

As I wrote about in this article, Why Freelance Writers May Be the Poorest Internet Entrepreneurs, freelance writers are not very good at embracing technology.

Sure, we may get as far as learning a little HTML code, scan and upload images, and even create simple logos, but we don’t get much beyond that. Once I started reading, practically all of my searches took me to some internet marketing guru’s site.

Invariably, I’d find a discussion about some piece of technology that would give me a eureka moment. That’s when I knew that I had to change the way I went about my business.

Post #40: 40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career

As I said in Post #38, “…this series (40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career) is winding down, [so] I wanted to end with three observations that prevent many freelance writers from making the income they should be making.”

Post #38 highlighted the "little" blockers to success. Post #39 was all about how freelance writers should use technology more.

Here, in the last post, I wanted to end with habits – as in, breaking them to create lasting success. Click here to read the entire post, How Doing Something New Can Make You More Money.

Post #39: 40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career

PUBLISHER NOTE: This series was started to answer questions from seminar attendees about what was going to be taught at the Freelance Writing Seminar. Details. I entitled these posts "40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career".

To start at the beginning of the "40 Days" series, click here. And, welcome to the blog. Now, on to today’s post . . .

Want to make $400, $500, $1,000/day freelancing? It's possible, but before I tell you how, let's digress for a minute.

As the 40 Days to a Successful Freelance Writing Career series is winding down, I wanted to end with three observations that prevent many freelance writers from making the income they should be making.

Yesterday in Post #38, we discussed the "little blockers" to success that can prevent you from making the sums mentioned above, which leads us to today's topic . . . how intelligently using technology can make you much more than you ever dreamed possible. Click here to read the entire post.
